Arts
Evidence shows that arts education provides students with the skills to think creatively, to innovate, and to become tenacious learners ready to solve complex problems—all skills that employers are increasingly looking for in the 21st century.
At EPS, we have a philosophy of encouraging creativity and self-expression – allowing all students to explore and share their individual talents. Musical and dramatically performances abound in all our schools and within all age groups, from endearing plays in Foundation Stage through to major musicals, plays, dance shows and concerts further up the school.
To further encourage students to explore the stage, each year the students have many opportunities to perform in front of parents and guests, both for major school productions and smaller more intimate performances.
Sports
Sports activities and interests provide many positive opportunities for children. We believe that participation in sports will enhance children"s school accomplishments.
Good sportsmanship provides guidelines that can be generalized to classroom and lifelong achievement. Participation in challenging sports contests teaches children to love classroom challenge. It also teaches children to function in a competitive society.
Our society is competitive, and we should teach our children to function in competition and how to both win and lose as good sports. Children must learn that winning and losing are both temporary, and that they can"t give up or quit.
